Reason: On 2026-10-21, PHP.net announced a critical security fix for PHP at 14:00 UTC, one day earlier than initially scheduled. The update fixes a critical vulnerability that allows remote code execution without authentication.
Actions taken: At 14:00 UTC, the updated PHP packages for Ubuntu were not yet available for all PHP versions. As a precaution, we stopped the web servers on all our servers running PHP until the updated packages became available and could be downloaded. We then updated each server, verified its health, and brought the servers back online one by one.
All sites now run latest, security-fixed PHP versions.
