How do I redirect a domain website to another URL Print

To preconfigure the redirection, login at your hosting pannel.

1. click Tab: Virtualmin (if not already selected)
2. Select your main virtual server (your first/main site, pre-selected usually)
3. Menu: Create Virtual server
4. Click button at top: Sub-server
5. Fill-in the new domain name to host/redirect
6. In enabled features remove everything except "Setup DNS server" and "setup website for domain" (if you need Email, enable email, virus and spam filtering features)
7. Click "Create Server" button

Once done, redirect the website:

1. Menu: Server Configuration, sub-menu: Website redirects
2. Click button "Add a new website redirect"
3. Enter / in URL path
4. and your URL in "URL at other website"
5. Select HTTP redirect type (e.g.: 301 Permanent)
6. Click "Create" button

If you need email for the redirected domain on our servers, then just select the sub-server, then in Enabled Features, enable Email, spam filtering and virus filtering features and save button, then in Edit Users menu, you can add users that will get corresponding own emailboxes, or add email aliases by editing a user.

Of course, your domain needs to either complete transfer first, and/or you need to adjust its DNS servers to ns2.cbpolis.com and ns3.cbpolis.com at hosting.joomlapolis.com/portal if the old settings are kept after the transfer.

To accelerate transfer to 10-30 minutes instead of 5 days, you can login in your previous registrar, and in domains being transfered explicitely approve the transfer
